Earlier this year, we did something a little unusual for our very first exhibition: we went to Dubai.
Gulfood 2026 wasn't originally part of a carefully planned exhibition calendar. In fact, only a few months before the show, we hadn't planned to exhibit at all.
But after seeing a growing number of international enquiries, particularly from the Middle East, we made a somewhat impulsive decision to take Everyday Superfood to Dubai and see for ourselves whether what we had built in the UK would resonate internationally.
Thanks to Ross and the team at Tradefairs, the official UK representative for Gulfood, we managed not only to make it happen at relatively short notice, but also to secure a fantastic location within the UK Pavilion. The pavilion itself was in a prime position within the show, giving us a brilliant setting for our very first exhibition.
It was our first-ever exhibition, our first time presenting Everyday Superfood internationally, and admittedly a fairly ambitious place to start.
It turned out to be a very good decision.
Five Days at Gulfood
The scale and energy of Gulfood were incredible. Over five very busy days, we met businesses from across the GCC and much further afield, received a huge number of enquiries and, most importantly, had some genuinely great conversations.
We also had an amazing time doing it.
One of the biggest surprises was the response to the Everyday Superfood brand itself. We received fantastic feedback on our packaging and presentation, with many businesses interested in bringing our products to their customers.
But it wasn't only the larger distributors and retailers that caught our attention.
We met independent supermarkets, hotels, coffee shops, health clubs, padel clubs and other growing businesses across the GCC that were actively looking for cleaner, better-quality ingredients to offer their customers.
Those were some of the conversations we enjoyed most.
A Simple Idea That Travels Well
There was something very familiar about many of the businesses we met.
They were responding to the same shift we have seen in the UK over the past decade: people becoming more health-conscious, paying more attention to what they eat and increasingly looking for simple, clean ingredients rather than unnecessarily complicated products.
That immediately resonated with us.
Everyday Superfood has always been built around a very simple principle: good food shouldn't need a complicated explanation.
Look at the ingredients on the back of any of our products and you won't find a single ingredient that isn't a whole food. No unnecessary fillers, additives or complicated formulations – just carefully sourced ingredients in the best form we can offer them.
Our job is then to make those ingredients genuinely accessible for everyday use – from the quality and format of the product itself to the packaging, presentation and price.
At Gulfood, we discovered that this philosophy was remarkably easy to communicate.
People seemed to understand very quickly what Everyday Superfood stood for.
Ten Years in the Making
Although Gulfood was our first exhibition, Everyday Superfood itself certainly wasn't new.
We have spent around a decade building our reputation in the UK, primarily as a consumer brand. During that time, hundreds of thousands of orders, customer interactions and years of feedback have shaped the way we source, develop and present our products.
As a B2C brand, reputation matters enormously. Customers can choose from countless alternatives, and their trust has to be earned over time.
Over the years, that reputation has also increasingly brought businesses to us – retailers, manufacturers and other food businesses looking for both finished products and bulk ingredients.
Taking the brand to Dubai gave us an opportunity to tell that story to an entirely new audience.
And perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of Gulfood was discovering how quickly businesses that had never encountered us before could understand the values we had spent ten years building.
Staying True to What We Set Out to Do
The reaction to the brand was also reassuring on a more personal level.
As businesses grow, it is very easy to add things, follow trends and gradually move away from the original idea.
The feedback we received in Dubai was a reminder that we hadn't become sidetracked from what we originally wanted Everyday Superfood to be.
Clean, high-quality ingredients. Genuine transparency. Beautifully presented. Practical enough for everyday use. And offered at a reasonable price.
There was no complicated story that we needed to manufacture for the exhibition. The products, packaging and the way we spoke about them were simply a reflection of how we already run the business.
That authenticity seemed to come across very clearly, and it was probably the feedback we valued most.
Beyond the Everyday Superfood Range
Gulfood also allowed us to introduce another important side of our business.
Behind our consumer range, we have spent many years developing our sourcing network and importing organic and natural ingredients. Today, we also supply many of these ingredients in bulk to other businesses.
At Gulfood, this led to conversations with manufacturers, distributors, retailers and other food businesses looking for reliable sources of high-quality ingredients.
Our experience as both an importer and a consumer brand gives us a slightly different perspective on bulk supply. We don't only look at an ingredient on a specification sheet – we understand that eventually someone has to open the pack, use it and decide whether it is actually good.
That same focus on quality runs through both sides of what we do.
What We Brought Home from Dubai
We went to Gulfood with plenty of questions.
Would an international audience understand the brand? Would our approach to simple, clean ingredients translate to different markets? And was there really an opportunity for Everyday Superfood beyond the UK?
Five days later, we came home with a lot of enquiries, some exciting new relationships and a much clearer answer.
There is a growing community of consumers and businesses around the world looking for cleaner, simpler and more transparent food – and many of the conversations we had in Dubai felt remarkably similar to those that helped us build Everyday Superfood in the UK.
For something we decided to do only a few months earlier – and our first exhibition at that – Gulfood turned into a significant milestone for us.
Most importantly, we had an amazing time meeting everyone who stopped at our stand, shared their businesses and ideas with us, and gave us such positive feedback.
Thank you, Dubai. We have a feeling we'll be back.
